Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 September 2026

This policy covers diannacarlton.com, operated by Carlton Family Corporation. It describes what the site collects, why, who it goes to, and how to have it removed.

What is collected, and when

When you book a call. Your name, email address, and anything you choose to add: your website, social or advertising account handles, what you want from the call, which platforms you advertise on and your approximate monthly ad spend. The time zone your browser reports is recorded so the confirmation shows the correct local time.

When you sign up for a free resource. Your first name and email address. Signups are confirmed by a double opt-in, so an address is only added after the owner of that inbox clicks a confirmation link.

When you buy a service. Payments are taken by Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach this site or its operator. What comes back is the billing name, email and the record that a payment succeeded.

When you simply visit. Aggregate analytics such as page views, referrer and approximate location, plus the advertising measurement described below. If you arrive through a short link of the form /go/<code>, the code is carried through so the source of the visit can be recognised.

Why

  • To schedule, hold and confirm a booked call, and to prepare for it
  • To send a resource you asked for, and email you if you opted in
  • To deliver and support a service you have paid for
  • To understand which pages and sources bring people to the site
  • To measure and improve advertising
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations

Information given for one of these reasons is not repurposed for an unrelated one. Nothing collected here is sold, and nothing is shared with other advertisers.

Who it is shared with

These are the services that receive data in the course of running this site:

  • Google (Calendar, Meet, Gmail) — a booked call creates a calendar event and a video link, and the invitation and confirmation are emailed to you. Your name and email appear on the calendar invitation.
  • Meta — the Meta Pixel reports page views and actions back to Meta to measure and target advertising. Meta sets its own cookies and may connect this activity to a Meta account. It only runs subject to your consent, described under Cookies below. See Meta’s privacy policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing, where you buy something.
  • Umami — site analytics. It runs on hardware operated by Carlton Family Corporation, does not use cookies, and does not build a profile of individual visitors.

Booking records, contact records and email preferences are held in a database operated by Carlton Family Corporation, not by a third-party CRM.

Cookies and advertising measurement

The analytics on this site are cookieless and are not covered by the choice below. The Meta Pixel is different: it sets cookies and reports back to Meta, so it is governed by your consent.

How that choice works. If you are visiting from the UK, the EU or the wider EEA, the pixel stays switched off until you accept it. Everywhere else it starts on and the banner offers you a way to switch it off. Either way the decision is yours, it is remembered on your own device, and it is not a one-time question.

To change it later, use Privacy choices in the footer of any page. That panel shows whether advertising cookies are currently on or off and lets you switch them either way. Turning them off stops the pixel from loading on the pages you visit afterwards. Anything Meta already received before you turned it off is held by Meta under their policy, and you can adjust that with them directly in your Meta account settings.

Independently of this site, you can also:

  • Adjust your advertising preferences directly with Meta in your account settings
  • Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use its tracking-prevention setting
  • Use a browser or extension that blocks tracking scripts

Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device, not on a server and not against your name. Clearing your browser data clears it, and the banner will ask again.

Email

Marketing email is only sent to addresses that completed the double opt-in. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe here or email a request. Unsubscribing is honoured for marketing email; it does not stop a confirmation for a call you have booked or a receipt for something you have bought.

How long it is kept

Booking records are kept while there is an active or recent working relationship, and then for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes. Contact records are kept until you ask for removal or unsubscribe, after which a suppression record is retained so you are not added back by mistake. Analytics are aggregate and are not tied to a named person.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can withdraw consent to marketing email at any time. Where you have a legal right to do so, you can object to processing or ask that it be restricted, and you will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

Email dianna@diannacarlton.com and say what you want done. Requests are answered within 30 days. Verification may be needed before information is released or deleted, to be sure the request comes from you.

Children

This site is meant for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. Information is not knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has provided information here, email the address above and it will be removed.

Security, and its limits

Data is held on access-controlled systems and moves over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and no absolute guarantee is offered.

Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
